FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Martin is a tall and broad man with fair skin and a smattering of faint freckles. His eyes are light blue. He wears glasses and has a mop of thick strawberry blond hair that looks like it could be either blond or red depending on the light. Martin's cheeks get dimples when he smiles big enough, though this doesn't happen terribly often. His voice is fairly high in pitch with a British accent. He tends to wear sweaters whenever the weather allows, or otherwise collared button-ups. Martin generally smells very strongly of tea, due to drinking and making it often, and tends to use a subtle unisex cologne. Those with extrasensory powers may be able to perceive that Martin has been touched by a supernatural force called The Lonely, a fear of isolation so acute that it has resulted in a metaphysical manifestation. Martin both exudes loneliness and feeds off of it, though he takes no joy in either and empathizes with lonely people.

Martin is a profoundly lonely person, to the point where isolation has seeped into his existence and even given him some paranormal abilities. He tends to self-isolate as a coping mechanism, despite the fact that it eats at him, because it's easier than feeling just as alone around people.

RESOURCEFUL

Martin can be awkward and blundering at times, but whatever trouble he gets himself into, he's effective at planning a way out. He has been known to find unique tools and clever solutions to plan for disasters.

ANXIOUS

Especially in social situations, Martin has a tendency to let his anxiety get the better of him, which can cause him to make mistakes, snap at others, or break down, depending on the stress level. He will often feel a lot of guilt afterwards.

DOTING

A cup of tea and a friendly word are go-to caretaking methods of Martin's. He cares very much about the well-being of the people around him and goes out of his way to try and help them. Unfortunately, this can often manifest as people-pleasing behavior.

DEVOTED

Loyal to a fault, Martin is a deeply devoted person who will stick by his people at all costs, even if it is his own well-being or even the relationship itself. He can also be very territorial. But he is a reliable friend who will always be there for the people who need him in whatever way he can.
